People from rural villages which News 1st visited during the Gammedda Door to Door programme, were given an opportunity to visit the Sirasa – John Keells Vesak Zone today.
Around 300 devotees who live in rural areas in the country and who are unable to travel the distance to worship the Sacred Relics received the opportunity to venerate the relics today.Residents from five rural villages arrived at the Vesak zone today.
One group of devotees commenced their journey from the Seegirimulla area in Sigiriya, where the News 1st Gammedda programme was initiated.
The other groups set off from Mahiyanganaya, Hambantota, Bibila and Galenbindunuwewa.
The groups which arrived in special buses were welcomed at Braybrooke Place and then worshipped the sacred relics. The group then took in the sights and attractions at the Sirasa – John Keells Vesak Zone.
All arrangement were made by News 1st for these villagers who we encountered during the Gammedda Door to Door programme, to visit the Sirasa John Keells Vesak Zone.
