The Central Committee of the SLFP has decided to initiate disciplinary action against party members who act against the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the Party Leadership.

It was also decided that the Disciplinary committee of the SLFP would take further action in this regard.

General Secretary of the SLFP Duminda Dissanayake said that of the 10 Local Government Politicians who were asked to provide reasons as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against them, only one had done so.

He added that more time was granted for the remaining 9 local government politicians to provide reasons.
