A coordinating office of former president and current parliamentarian Mahinda Rajapaksa was declared opened on Friday.

The coordinating office is situated down Nelum Mawatha in Jayanthipura, Battaramulla. The office was opened by the president at the auspicious time of 9.33  a.m. on Friday

Pirith was chanted to bless the office by the Venerable Maha Sangha including the Chief Incumbent of the Abhayarama Temple in Narahenpita, Venerable Muruttetuwe Ananda Thero.

Subsequently Muslim, Hindu and Catholic Religious leaders also added their blessings. Politicians, artistes and supporters were present for the event.
