The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights is scheduled to visit Colombo, Jaffna, Trincolmalee, and Kandy. The UN office in Colombo said, Prince Zeid Raád Al Hussein will hold a press conference prior to the end of his visit on February 9.
This is his first visit to Sri Lanka following the retirement of Navanethem Pillay, the former UN Human Rights High Commissioner.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein stated that he is delighted to visit Colombo, since it is his first trip to Sri Lanka.
He added that he is looking forward to meet both the highest officials of the state, and representatives of all communities
