Sixty Four housemaids who allegedly faced various issues in Kuwait arrived in the country on Wednesday, January 13.

The Ministry of Foreign Employment said that the housemaids who arrived in the country, were those who had been sheltered at safe houses at the Sri Lankan High Commission in Kuwait.

They include women whose contract had expired, and those who fled as their wages had not been properly paid. The Ministry stated that investigations will be conducted based on information revealed by the women.

About a week ago, 70 house maids who also claim to have faced the same issues were brought back to the country.
