A single-member committee has been appointed to look into acts of corruption and irregularities which are said to have occurred at the Department of Wildlife.
The Minister of Wildlife, Gamini Jayawikrama Perera, stated that former Supreme Court Judge Nimal Dissanayake has been appointed to the single-member committee.
Meanwhile, the minister noted that Director General of Wildlife H.D. Ratnayake has been assigned to the officers cadre, till the investigations are over.
He added that Chandrasiri Bandara, who is an additional secretary to the ministry has been called upon to overlook the duties of the Director General in his absence.
