Russia to adopt new measures to clamp down on doping in sports

Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko pledged his country would adopt new measures to clamp down on doping including devising new testing methods and possibly opening criminal cases against athletes suspected of cheating.

Russian Sports Minister,Vitaly Mutko added that as for measures we can take we can change the quality of doping testing.

He stated:

We can move from quantity indicators to quality indicators as well. Move from direct, common doping tests to biological passport which practically excludes any manipulation and immediately gets into ADAMS system and secondly, we want to seriously consider tightening responsibility from administrative and maybe think about a criminal responsibility and thirdly, today we want to increase the responsibility of the federations.
