The Inter-University Students Federation commenced a protest march on Tuesday, November 03.

The protest march which commenced from opposite the University of Sri Jayawardenapura was organised against the Private Medical University in Malabe and the charging of fees for certain university courses.

They also demand that the university intake be increased. The protesting students who arrived in Nugegoda, passing the Wijerama Junction proceeded to Thimbirigasyaya and Thunmulla and arrived opposite the Ministry of Higher Education and demonstrated.

A discussion was held this evening between officials and representatives of the students who were demonstrating opposite the Ministry of Higher Education.
