Members of Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Serious Financial Crimes boarded the Avant Garde vessel at the Galle harbour on Wednesday,October 28, to conduct the needed investigations.
Following an inquiry made by News 1st, Inspector Rajapaksa, who is the Head of the Investigation team, stated that a part of the cache of weapons found on the vessel was investigated. He noted that the remaining weapons will be investigated on Thursday, October 29.
The weapons are under investigation as a part of the operation to ascertain the credibility of the evidence recorded by the Presidential Commission which claimed that, during the tenure of the previous Government, Avant Garde had obtained the weapons from Rakna Arakshaka Lanka.
Speaking on the matter, the leader of the National Unity Front Azad Sally stated that he is pleased with the investigations and applauded the commission over their activities.
