Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe stated in Parliament on Friday that a two-day debate will be held on the United Nations Human Rights Report.
Prime Minister, Ranil Wikremesinghe further stated:
A request was made to the government to allocate days especially for the report on Human Rights by United Nations. The party leaders told me that its is better if we discuss this and debate on this by an adjournment motion. Thereby, the President’s Office will provide the Paranagama Commission Report and the Udalagama Commission Report. But these have not been translated to Sinhala and Tamil.
He went on to note:
If we are to debate on this the next week we will only have the three English reports. I discussed with the speaker as well, if we provide the relevant copies on Tuesday, we can do this on Thursday and Friday….
