An arrest is yet to be made over the murder of a woman in Kotakethana, Kahawatte on Monday, September 28.
According to the police, investigations are taking place based on the evidence recovered from the crime scene. A mother of two from the Upper Area of Opathawaththa in Kotakethana was stabbed to death.
She had visited the estate in the area to pluck tea leaves and her colleagues report that she completed her work between 1 and 2 on Monday afternoon.
Police had discovered blood spatter at several locations of the estate. The victims body was found 3 kilometres away from her residence. Police added that the Kotakethana Police post is located 1,5 kilometred from where the body was found.
With this mysterious homicide, the number of women killed in Kotakethana, Kahawatte since the April 4, 2011 has risen to 14.
