At the cabinet briefing on Wednesday journalists raised questions over the investigation report by the United Nations Human Rights Council. When questioned whether the Hybrid Court will be established Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne stated that “there is nothing like that – and that is something you are trying to establish.”

The Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine further added that what was released is only the proposal made by the Human Rights Committee and that was not the final report and the final report will be presented to the UN, and a final decision will be taken on the 24. This is only the proposal and this is the proposal presented to the UN.

He went on to stated:

Now in addition to that, the US resolution on Sri Lanka has also been presented and there is no “Hybrid Court” in that and that is based only on a domestic mechanism and all the powerful countries support a domestic mechanism and a final decision will be taken on the 24th based on the final proposal made by all.
