US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal, who arrived in the country on her third visit, called on the new Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweewa on Tuesday.
The new Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samawarweea took office on Tuesday morning and met Nishal Biswal – the first foreign diplomat he met – after taking office in his new capacity.
Discussions between the Minister the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs centred around developing ties and Sri Lanka’s contribution towards regional development. During her stay Nisha Biswal will meet with the President and the Prime Minister.
Assistant Secretary Biswal will complete her tour by Wednesday and will travel to New Delhi, India.
