Ratnasiri Wickramanayake, a former prime minister and former general secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, says SLFP leaders should be held accountable for the party’s setbacks.
The senior politician expressed these views at the SLFP Horana electorate council meeting which held on Sunday August 23.
Former General Secretary of SLFP Ratanasiri Wickramanayake noted that instead of working towards forming a government, they worked towards defeating certain individuals and gaining victory. He also said that because they resorted to these personal agendas they forgot the common enemy.
Speaking on the impact of journalists during the pre-election period he said that they saw journalists working tirelessly to elect good individuals to parliament adding that journalists also created an opinion to send individuals with at least the minimum qualifications to parliament.
