Here are some of the views expressed at two separate media briefings on the manifestos of the UPFA and UNP.

Colombo District Candidate of UNP, Rosy Senanayake stated that Mahinda Rajapaksa has made the same promises they have made, or have already accomplished within the 100 days.

She added that she is disappointed at the fact that Mahinda Rajapaksa has fallen to a such a low level.

Kalutara District Candidate of UNP, Ajith P. Perera stated that the Mahinda Chinthanaya is far behind the programme of Reviving the Country: Starting Anew.

He added that this document is something which is purely aimed at the election.

Colombo District Candidate of UPFA, Susil Premajayantha stated that they have made proposals from their budget as they have provided several concessions. But that this government has not implemented them.

He added that they brought in their mini budget and stuck to that as he made these proposals after considering all the data and statistics.

Colombo District Candidate of UPFA, Thilanga Sumathipala asked that as professionals what are they doing to the 650,000 children who have failed O/Ls and A/Ls and are not entering university?

He added that in their manifesto named A Guarantee for the Future they have allocated Rs. 50,000 for each child to pursue their future within 32 fields.
