The enjoining order — which was issued by the Colombo District Court preventing Sri Lanka Freedom Party central committee from convening without the authorisation of Party Chairman President Maithripala Sirisena — was on Wednesday extended until Aug. 7.

The order was issued by Colombo Additional District Court Judge Harsha Setunge upon a request made by Attorney-at-Law T. Weragoda.

Counsel for petitioner Attorney-at-Law Pulasthi Rupasinghe added that filing a proxy in court on Wednesday, a lawyer representing the General Secretary of the defendant Sri Lanka Freedom Party obtained a date to file statement of objections. The enjoining order was then extended until Aug. 7.

Court issued the enjoining order on July 15 after considering a petition filed by SLFP member Prasanna Solangarachchi.
