Speaking at a public meeting in Malabe on Sunday, the leader of the JVP Anura Kumara Dissanayake noted that if the thieves are punished, the team of Mahinda Rajapaksa is at risk of splitting.
Anura Kumara noted that if individuals such as Johnston Fernando, Lalith Weerathunga, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Rohitha Abeygunawardena and T.B. Ekanayake are punished, then this would distrupt the plans of the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The JVP leader added that the Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe, believes that the split should not happen. He believes that both Mahinda Rajapaksa’s team and Maithripala Sirisena’s team should contest, this would give the United National Party (UNP) a better opportunity.
The leader of the JVP Anura Kumara notes that if this takes place it will be similar to the UNP winning the ‘jackpot’.
