The three-day programme launched to control the spread of Dengue across nine districts in the country came to a close on Saturday, June 06 evening.
The operation was carried out by the Dengue Eradication Unit of The Ministry of Health together with security forces. Director of the Dengue Eradication Unit specialist Doctor Hasitha Tissera said the programme was carried out in the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Ratnapura, Puttalam, Trincomalee, Kurunegala, Jaffna and Batticaloa districts.
Dr. Tissera also warned of the risks of the spread of Dengue, caused primarily by ongoing monsoonal rains across several parts of the country.
