Approximately 3,000 police personnel will be on duty in Anuradhapura for this year’s Poson festival.

Speaking to News 1st, DIG for the North Central Province Ravi Wijegoonewardene stated that these police personnel will be deployed to direct traffic as well as provide security for those devotees arriving in Anuradhapura.

The DIG added that plain clothes police personnel will also be on duty during this time.
