The cabinet has decided to appoint a sub committee to examine the proposed 20th amendment to the constitution.
Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Rajitha Senaratne said this decision was taken during Wednesday’s (May 13th) cabinet meeting. The sub committee will comprise of six ministers and will be chaired by Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama.
Minister Rajitha Senartne stated that based on a presidential directive the sub committee will extensively examine the proposals and suggestions presented by several political parties.
The cabinet spokesperson added that the report in this regard is due to be presented to the cabinet next week.
