MP Basil Rajapaksa remanded till May 20th

Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa was remanded till May 20th after being produced before the Kaduwela Magistrates court on Thursday (May 7th).

Former Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa was arrested by the Colombo Financial Crimes Division on April 22  and was later remanded after he was produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.

Basil Rajapaksa and the three other suspects have been charged under the ‘Public Property Act’, for the misuse of funds at the Divi Neguma Department during the last regime.

After the parliamentarian was remanded, he was later moved to the prison hospital before being transferred to the National Hospital.
