Mahinda Rajapaksa visits MP Johnston Fernando in remand prison

A group including several politicians visited former Minister Johnston Fernando, who is in remand custody, at the remand prison hospital in Colombo on Thursday, (May 07th).

MP’s Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Kumara Welgama and Bandula Gunawardena, were among the first visitors for Johnston Fernando at the Colombo Remand Prison Hospital, this morning. Later a group of SLFP seniors including the Opposition Leader, also visited Johnston Fernando.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, also visited Fernando this afternoon and stated that this is a clear civil case. He noted that loans can be taken and repayments can be made later, he questioned as to how a civil case become a criminal case. The former president noted that it is very clear that this is as a result of political vengeance.
