Chairman of the Employment Association Mahinda Kahandagama, was released on bail on Tuesday April 21 after being remanded on charges of financial fraud.
He was released on a Rs 100,000 bail and four sureties worth Rs 5 million each.
Having granted bail, the Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya, ordered that the suspect should avoid collecting money from retail outlets under the purview of the Colombo Municipal Council.
The magistrate also noted that the AG will file a report to the court regarding the suspects involvement in financial fraud and added that, if found guilty, the suspect’s bail would be cancelled.
