One hundred and forty seven (147) drivers were nabbed during countrywide patrols for driving under the influence. This accounts for drivers under the influence apprehended in the past 24 hours that ended on Monday April 13 at 6 a.m.
Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that the majority of those arrested were three-wheeler drivers. He also added that operations to nab or apprehend drivers under the influence of alcohol will continue during the festive season.
During patrols on Sunday, police apprehended 175 drivers who were under the influence of alcohol.
