Interpol officers to be given special travel permits to visit Sri Lanka

The  Ministry of Public Order states that a decision has been reached to introduce a special travel permit for the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) officers.

Minister of Public Order John Amaratunga stated that this will be issued to interpol officers who need to visit Sri Lanka to conduct investigations.

The Minister added that the Interpol’s assistance will be sought to carry out further investigations into alleged financial frauds committed by former MPs.
