Addressing his final post match press conference veteran Sri Lankan Batsman Kumar Sangakkara shared some valuable advice to all those who love the sport. “Disappointments are a part of our career, and you just take it on the chin and move on” he said, sound advice to be applied in any aspect of life.

Speaking on Sri Lanka’s lost to South Africa during the quarter finals of the ICC world Cup Kumar Sangakkara said that Sri Lanka was unable to build proper partnerships adding that he was disappointed that Sri Lanka lost 7 wickets to spin , even though South Africa’s bowling unit is spearheaded by pace bowlers.

Sangakkara believed that the equation would have changed had Sri Lanka been able to score around 250 runs. He remarked that he had a great time playing with the Sri Lankan team.

Commenting on Mahela Jayawardene who also bid farewell to ODI cricket today, Sangakkara stated that Mahela has been an exceptional player who scored many runs and lead Sri Lanka to victory on countless occasions.
