Three persons have been arrested over the murder of  TNA Parliamentarian Nadarajah Raviraj.

Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekera speaking to News1st said that one of the arrested is a member of the Sri Lanka Navy.

He went on to say that the two other suspects are former Sri Lanka Navy personnel. The Police Media Spokesperson said that the suspects are being interrogated based on detention orders.

TNA MP Nadaraja Raviraj, was shot to death on Matha Road in Narahenpita on the 10th of November 2006.

Nadaraja Raviraj who commenced his professional life as a lawyer in 1988, served as Deputy Mayor and Mayor of Jaffna, between 1998 and 2001.

He served as an MP from the Tamil National Alliance between 2001 and 2006.

Three suspects have been arrested 9 years after the 2006 assassination of Nadaraja Raviraj.

The case pertaining to the abduction of several school students in which accusations have been leveled at Navy personnel, is to be taken up in court once again on Wednesday.

The premise for this case, is a petition filed at the Court of Appeal in 2011, over the abduction of a group of school students in Dehiwela on the 17th of August 2008.
