Thirty Central Provincial Councilors have submitted affidavits to the Governor of Central Province, to appoint Thilina Bandara Tennakoon as the new Chief Minister of Central Province.
UPFA Central Provincial Councilor, Thilina Bandara Tennakoon stated that out of those who handed over affidavits, 15 are from the UPFA.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader of the council, Ranjith Aluwihare was also present during the handing over of the Affidavits.
There are 58 seats at the Central Provincial Council.
Sarath Ekanayake is the current Chief Minister.
Governor Suranganai Elllawala said that the affidavits will be examined and a decision will be taken thereafter.
