The Elections Secretariat urges the general public to correct any inaccuracies, if any, on their polling cards at relevant district election offices.
Additional Elections Commissioner U. Amaradasa stated that there have been complaints of several printing mistakes on the polling cards with regard to name and gender.
In order to correct these mistakes, Amaradasa instructed the general public to go to their relevant district elections office with identity cards. The Elections Secretariat also stated that by correcting these inaccuracies, there will be no obstacles when individuals are casting votes on Jan. 8.
Meanwhile, the distribution of polling cards is scheduled to conclude Sunday, with 94 percent of the distribution process already complete.
