Deputy Secretary to the Treasury Dr. B.M.S. Batagoda says that the 2015 budget which was presented on Friday, as well as the nine previous budgets presented, by the current administration have been put forward with one goal in mind.
Addressing a seminar on the national budget organised by the Department of Inland Revenue on Friday, Batagoda stated that it is the government’s aim to steer Sri Lanka towards a knowledge economy. He also noted that the vision of the current government is to make Sri Lanka a developed country by 2035.
The Deputy Secretary to the Treasury also noted that the 2015 budget specifically focuses on developing human resources, increasing revenue and ensuring that development benefits flow to all communities.
