At a media briefing convened on Wednesday, the Frontline Socialist Party’s Propaganda Secretary Pubudu Jayagoda made the following statement.
Millions upon millions of rupees have been spent in an apparent bid to strengthen relations between the US government and the Sri Lankan government. Sajin Vass Gunawardena has signed several agreements there. Via these agreements, millions have been paid to public relations firms in the United States. Their task has been to bring about friendly ties between the American government and the Sri Lankan government. They spent millions in public funds to become friendly. Did they get the approval of parliament? It is said that parliament has fiscal power but approval was not sought from parliament. This has not been spent from the accounts of the External Affairs Ministry. In these agreements, Sajin Vass Gunawardena has not put down the Ministry of External Affairs address as his address. The address is for a location on Dudley Senanayake Mawatha in Borella. That address is the address of an Employment Agency.
Our attempts to contact MP Sajin de Vass Gunawardena regarding the allegations made by the Frontline Socialist Party, were unsuccessful.
