President Mahinda Rajapaksa is to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bilateral discussions in the next few days, in the course of his official tour of America.
Presidential Spokesperson Mohan Samaranayaka said that the President and his delegation left last evening on a six-day visit to the USA to participate in the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
He said that the General Assembly is to commence on Tuesday at the U.N. headquarters in New York City and President Rajapaksa will address the gathering on September 24.
The President is also expected to hold bilateral discussions with a number of heads of state from around the world on the sidelines of the assembly.
