Spain says it has secured SL’s support for UN Security Council bid

Spain says it has won the backing of Sri Lanka for its bid to win a seat in the United Nations Security Council next year.

Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia, currently on an official visit to Sri Lanka, made this statement following a meeting with Minister of External Affairs, Professor G.L. Peiris.

Incidentally, News1st was not invited to cover the event, however, international media reported on the meeting. Reuters reported that the meeting between the visiting Spanish Foreign Minister and Minister G.L. Peiris was held in Colombo today.
