Tensions flared on Saturday morning in the Talawakelle town centre following the discovery of the body of a schoolboy who was reported missing three days ago.

The body of the missing school boy was found floating in the Kotmale Reservoir.

Estate workers in Talawakelle took to the streets on Saturday claiming that the police had failed to act expeditiously upon receiving the report of the missing boy.
An additional detachment of police officers was deployed to the area to disperse the protesters.
