Court of Appeal Judge Upali Abeyratne ruled on Friday that Indika Koralage should be reinstated as the Chairman of the Homagama Pradeshiya sabaha .

Meanwhile, an interim injunction was also issued on the Friday of July 25, annulling the gazette notification which was issued appointing Pradeshiya Sabha Member Ruwan Prasanna as the Chairman of the Homagama Pradehiya Sabha on an earlier occasion.

The case will be taken up for consideration once again on September 17.

Chairman of the Homagama PS  A.D. Kumarasiri was forced to step down after the 2014 Budget of the Pradeshiya Sabha was defeated.

s who cast their votes to defeat budgets of pradeshiya sabhas to the post of Chairman.

Accordingly, Indika Koralage was removed from the position of Chairman and Ruwan Prasanna was appointed in his place. Koralage filed a petition in the the Court of Appeal against the move and, when the case was taken up for consideration , the court ruled that Indika Koralage should be reinstated as the Chairman of the Homagama Pradeshiya Sabha .
