The Colombo Municipal Council states that the growth rate of Dengue patients in the Colombo City has reduced by 20 percent.
Ruwan Wijemuni, chief medical officer of the Colombo Municipal Council, stated that the percentage of Dengue patients stood at 60 percent at the beginning of June, adding that the said figure had reduced to 40 percent by the end of the month.
During the last month, 438 Dengue patients were reported from the CMC limits.
This is also incidently the highest number of patients reported in the same area for the past six months.
One thousand Six hundred and Forty Six (1,646) dengue patients were reported from the area under the purview of the Colombo Municipal Council this year.
Meanwhile, the Government Nursing Officers Association states that there is shortage of triple pack blood bags that are used for blood transfusion for Dengue patients who are in critical condition.
