Rajarata University vice-chancellor continues to remain a hostage

The vice-chancellor of the Rajarata University continues to be held hostage at his official residence.

The situation has been ongoing since Thursday night.

The vice-chancellor and several members of the academic staff  continue to be forcibly held at the vice chancellor’s official residence.

Meanwhile, Students Union Chairman at the University of Rajarata, Dinesh Kumara says that the vice-chancellor and the group of lecturers would be held hostage until the decision to suspend 27 students from attending lectures at the university was overturned.
