President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is currently on a tour to Bolivia, is scheduled to address the G77 summit on Sunday.
The Presidential Media Unit said that the president participated in the summit’s inauguration ceremony on Saturday.
The president also engaged in bilateral discussions with the prime minister of Namibia on Saturday.
The summit is taking place under the theme “For a New World Order for Living Well.”
According to the Presidential Spokesperson and International Media Unit, the summit is set to commence at 6.45 p.m. local time in Bolivia.
The Presidential Spokesperson and International Media Unit said that a large number of leaders and high-level delegations from the 133 member countries are expected to attend the summit.
They added that the President is also scheduled to hold talks with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.
