According to our correspondent, the location marked by the police as where the shooting occurred was inspected by the judicial medical officer.

However, residents state that the location marked by the police as where Subash Indika collapsed after being shot at is different from the actual location.

According to Sachin Chathuranga, the pillion rider who survived this incident, the motorcycle collapsed in close proximity to where the shooting was carried out.

However, according to the police the location is around 150 metres away.

Religious observances were held at the residence of Subash Indika before the cortege departed from the public cemetery. The cortege proceeded along the Mirigama – Negombo 241 bus route.

A group of individuals who attended the funeral procession began to stage administration blocking the road.

Our correspondent in the area noted that vehicular movement was hampered as a result of this situation.

The final rites of Subash Indika Jayasinghe were performed at the Kithulwela public cemetery in Mirigama.
