An earth slip has occurred between the Demodara train station and the Udunuwara Train Station in Badulla.
The Railway Control Room said the Udarata Manike train which was scheduled to leave Badulla at 5.45 on Wednesday morning did not commence its journey. Steps have currently been taken to remove the gravel from the rail track.
However, the Railway Control Room said the train which operates from Colombo to Badulla will operate as usual.
Meanwhile, a container truck that was travelling along the tunnel below the main rail route between Ragama and Dematagoda has collided with the overhead bridge.
The Railway Control Room further said that a similar incident took place at the said location Wednesday.
