Issuing a media release Deputy Minister of Investment Promotion Faizer Mustapha has appealed to the media to act with responsibility when reporting on incidents relating to religious violence.

The Deputy Minister noted that in the recent past various articles and broadcasts which fueled religious hatred have emerged and added that the media is being used as a tool by some to spread religious disharmony and hatred.

Faizer Mustapha noted that by giving prominence to those who issue statements that incite hatred, the media is indirectly being used as a platform by those who spread disharmony.

While urging the media to refrain from publishing views that propagate religious disharmony the deputy minister notes that such an act would dishearten individuals who spread disharmony and would also propel the country towards national reconciliation.
