Railways Dept says Pothuhera train crash victims will be given compensation

The Railway Department stated that measures have been taken to provide compensation to those who sustained injuries in the Pothuhera railway accident.

When News1st contacted the general manager of railway services, B.P.A. Ariyarthna in this regard, he said:

“We will be taking strict measures against those who are responsible for the accident due the extent and impact of this incident. A large number of passengers have been severely affected and much damage has been caused to public property. We intend to carry investigation without delay and ascertain what was the cause and who is to be held accountable for the accident for which measures will be taken to terminate their employment with immediate effect.”
