British Prime Minister hails a victory for the people of Sri Lanka following the United Nations adoption of the US Sponsored resolution last evening.

David Cameron said that the passage of the resolution was triggered by the failure of the Sri Lanka Government to stand by its promises to credibly and independently investigate alleged violations on both sides during the war.

Prime Minister Cameron urged the Sri Lanka President to cooperate with the international inquiry adding that he was proud of the crucial role that Britain had played to secure this outcome.
