A group of Sri Lankans in a special camp within the Central Prison campus locked up the inner gate with three Nigerian officials inside on Tuesday.
The officials came to the camp for completing immigration formalities for the eight Nigerians housed in the camp prior to their deportation to their country.
Police sources said the Sri Lankans, who had been seeking basic facilities and a western toilet for one of their differently abled colleagues, locked the inner gate from inside after the officials were about to take photographs of the Nigerian detenus.
With help from Nigerian detenus, the officials broke the lock using a stone and came out.
