Dilruwan makes history in third test match against Pakistan

Sri Lanka were 220 for the loss of five wickets stumps on day one of the third test match against Pakistan that commenced on Thursday. Captain Angelo Matthews won the toss elected to take first lease of the Sharjah wicket.

Fast bowler, Nuwan Pradeep was rested today and right arm spinner Dilruwan Perera was called in as his replacement Following an opening stand of 31 runs, Kaushal Perera became Sri Lanka’s first casualty as he was dismissed for 17 runs.

Dimuth Karunaratne was only able to manage 34 runs before he was caught in the slips.

Meanwhile, Kumar Sangakkara recorded his 44 half century in test cricket, Sangakkara’s innings on Thursday, however, was limited to 52 runs.  Mahela Jayawardena who looks to steady the Sri Lankan innings only managed to score 47 runs before being undone.

Dinesh Chandimal only managed to score 11 runs.
