Saw certain incidents in Matara; I never approve violence in politics – Jayasuriya

Deputy Minister of Postal Services,  Sanath Jayasuriya reiterates that he does not approve violence in politics.

He made this statement at an event held at the St. Servatius’ College in Matara on Thursday.

A special function was held at St. Servatius College on Thursday to felicitate Deputy Minister Sanath Jayasuriya who is an old boy of the school. At the occasion the Deputy Minister made a donation to the school’s musical unit.

Deputy Minister of Postal Services, Sanath Jayasuriya said; “I believe that we should engage in politics without violence. We saw certain incidents in Matara, however I never approve violence in politics.”

He added that he will continue to do so. He went on to state that what he wants to do is to get close to the people and serve them to the best of his ability.

He further added; “I consider my duties as great responsibilities. Some people are happy about this while some are unhappy.”
