It was revealed in Parliament on Wednesday, that a professor who was connected with the Z-score crisis in the 2011 Advanced Level Examinations, passed away following a heart attack.
This revelation was made by Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardena.
UNP Parliamentarian, Rosy Senanayake commented on the Z-scores and the 2011 Advanced level Examinations in Parliament.
“As of February 2013, students who passed the 2011 Advanced Level Examinations, had not been enrolled in the Education Science Faculty. Even after the courts gave a verdict on the Z scores, why have they not been enrolled,” said UNP Parliamentarian, Rosy Senanayake.
Minister of Education, Bandula Gunawardena replied; “following the court verdict on the Z-Scores, a professor had a heart attack and passed away, Professor K.R.M.T. Karunaratne. The verdict caused a major crisis as it was politically motivated. The crisis has caused a delay. There has been no cutback in enrollments. They have been enrolled as per the new Z scores.”
