The Commonwealth Youth Forum and the Commonwealth People’s Forum was held for third day too.
Here is  a look at some of Tueday’s proceedings. The highlight of the Commonwealth Youth Forum held on Tuesday was the establishing of the first Commonwealth Youth Forum; and the constitution of the council was adopted.
Under the new constitution nine exceutive officers and leaders for four regions were appointed. The elections for this purpose commenced at 12 noon on Tuesday and concluded at 6 p.m.
Members from the African And European regions were afforded the opportunity to submit nominations for the post of chairperson who will serve for two terms. The names of twelve Sri Lankans were nominated to the Executive Board of the Commonwealth Youth Council.Gender equality and productive employment for youth were some of the topics discussed at the Commonwealth Youth Forum on Tuesday. Meanwhile, sessions of the Commonwealth People’s Forum continued in Hikkaduwa today.
