Sri Lankan record enters the Guinness Book of World Records

Another Sri Lankan record has been entered into the Guinness Book of World Records.
This record involved a wedding in Negombo which saw not only the happy couple but also the beautician and the country being entered into the record books. Nisansala and Nalin entered married life today.There wedding was an unusual one.
This wedding was an unusual owing to the fact that there were 130 bridesmaids. Along with the 30 groomsmen, this wedding photo enters the Guinness Record Books by having close to 200 people in it. A representative from the Guinness World Records Committee was also present to inspect the setting of the record.
She explained the conditions for setting this record for having 130 bridesmaids. Adjudicator of Guinness World Records, Seyda Subashi said; “the couple who were married in the Sinhalese tradition, appeared for their world record attempt in a separate hall.” After the adjudicator certified that all conditions had been met, Nisansala’s and Nalin’s wedding now goes down in the Guinness Book of World Records as the wedding ceremony with the largest number of bridesmaids.
Beautician Champi Siriwardena claims ownership of this Guinness Record.
