A millionaire businesswoman from Colpetty and three others were arrested in connection with the abduction and killing of a former police inspector.
The Police Media Unit said that the former inspector was abducted by an unidentified group on October 21 in Thalangama. According to the arrested businesswoman, the murdered former inspector’s mistress and her driver had said that the victim had fled by choice.
However, investigations have revealed that the businesswoman had allegedly handed down a contract to abduct the former inspector, and killed him since he had been harassing her.
